The Mole Feast

The Mole Feast by Samuel Mottram

Hid in his hole
Sat a great mole
Wondering what was for dinner
He wanted a pig
But did what he did
And claimed something even bigger.

To impress his wife
He took a sharp knife
And crawled out his deep dark hole
He spotted his target
And cautiously slid beside it
And stabbed the great big troll.

Lifting it high
Up to the sky
He held his victim with pride
Slaughtering beasts
Gave an almighty feast
That the mole had to carefully hide.

Lighting a match
He showed his catch
To his grateful hungry wife
Eating the beast
They truly had a feast
So she got him a brand new scythe.
