Hazel Class Window Displays

As part of our World Book Day celebrations, children decorated their windows with some amazing displays relating to World Book Day and favourite books that they have read.

Mrs Cronin and other members of staff, including the Reading lead teacher visited children’s homes and took photographs of their entries. The competition was judged and awards were given on Friday 12th March.
The lucky winners for Hazel Class were:
  • Joshua who represented a non-fiction text on World War 2 that he had been reading. He made a shoe box scene of an Anderson Shelter and dressed up in uniform for the occasion.
  • Laila won the family prize along with her younger sister Mary in FS2. Laila used a mixture of photos of her classmates and art work to represent ‘The World’s Worst Children’ by David Walliams. She is now following this up by reading “The World’s Worst Teachers’. Her sister Mary provided a huge representation of ‘The Smartest Giant in Town.’
Here are some photos of the amazing entries that were put forward for Hazel Class.

In addition to this Hazel Class had a fabulous return to school for their first week back after lockdown. We were all really pleased to be back together as a class again and the children transitioned back into school really well – we are so proud of them all.

Winners of the first week backs PRIDE awards go to Brodie for her excellent work and confident approach to sharing her ideas in Science week (pictures of Science week are to follow) and Joshua for his great concentration and focus in all learning on Friday. Tristen and Madison also received their silver awards for 100 PRIDE points. Well done everyone!
