Beech Class Update

Beech Class have had another amazing week. We’ve been extremely busy and have learned lots.

In English this week we have been reading the story ‘Can’t You Sleep Little Bear’. We discussed why Little Bear was afraid of the dark and how Big Bear tried to help him get to sleep. We then looked at story openings and discussed what made a good story opening which makes us want to read more.

In Maths we have been working on comparing and ordering numbers. We’ve worked really hard at this and we can now order in lots of different ways. On Friday we did some problem solving, using the method of trial and error. We had to use the digits 0-9 to make 2 digit numbers as close to the targets as possible, but we could only use each digit once! We had to work collaboratively with our partners to calculate the answer.

In Science this week we learned about nocturnal and diurnal animals and how some animals are adapted to live in the dark.

In History, we used different sources to investigate the Battle of Bosworth. We learned that Richard !!! and Henry VIII fought to be the leader of England. We saw lots of historical artifacts from the battle and we used these to help us learn about what had happened.

In PSHE we learned about how we might get either rewards or consequences for our actions and in Geography we used Google Earth to locate the human features of Rotherham.

Pride Award this week went to Amber who got this award as a well done for always doing the right thing and being a role model to the rest of the class.

Our Strive for Pride winners this week were Ethan W, Ethan S, Mia, Oliver, Roman, and Aaron.

Keep up the amazing work Beech Class!
