Welcome
to Year 2

Mrs Curror
Meet your teacher
Hello, My name is Mrs Curror and I will be your teacher this year. This will be my 9th year at Aston Lodge and as part of WPT, with the last 6 of those years spent teaching Year 2. This year I am looking forward to teaching you many new things but I love to teach history and geography, especially local history which includes learning about Conisborough Castle. I am looking forward to being part of your learning journey and can’t wait to see you all grow throughout the year. We will work hard but we’ll also have lots of fun learning opportunities together. I can’t wait to see you all in September!
Meet your Teaching Assistants

Mrs Moore
My name is Mrs. Moore and I am a teaching assistant in Key Stage 1. I have worked at Aston Lodge for 16 years.
In my free time I love spending time with my family, I love family holidays especially to Cornwall – it’s my favorite place to visit. I also love to be creative; I enjoy painting, baking and crochet but my favorite way to relax is reading. I have two dogs and I love walking with them in the woods.
I love working at Aston Lodge, getting to know all of the children is a privilege. I am really looking forward to working with you in September.
Class Information
This year all children will come home with a reading book, where they are expected to read 3 times per week with this signed in their readning record. They will also recieve spellings and homework to complete each week, which will help us in preparation for Key Stage 1 SATS that take place in May.
Our Learning
In our learning this year we will be taking part in some interesting topics across all subejcts. In the Autumn term we learn about Conisborough Castle in history and link this to our local area in Geography. Our trip this harlf term will be linked to history and will take place at Conisborough Castle with the date to be confirmed in September. There are lots of fun learning acitivites for all our subejcts inlcuding creating artwork with water colours and taking part in science experiments.
