Heart Dissections in Y6

As part of our Science curriculum, Y6 have been learning about the circulatory system – and this week they took their learning to the next level by dissecting a real heart! Before the dissection, pupils planned carefully by writing a method, making predictions, asking scientific questions, and creating their own safety equipment checklist.

During the practical, they used their senses to make observations, placed pins to identify the different parts of the heart, and threaded string through it to show the journey blood takes around the body. Amazing work, well done!
