Uniform
At Aston Lodge Primary School we believe that our children should be able to wear uniform that is affordable. Whilst branded jumpers and polo shirts are available, these are not compulsory and parents/carers are free to purchase uniform from any suitable retailer.
We have a school uniform which all children should wear. It consists of:
- Navy sweatshirt or cardigan (school logo is optional)
- Blue polo shirt (school logo is optional)
- Smart dark-coloured (navy or grey) trousers or skirt
- Plain dark-coloured (navy or grey) tights
During the summer months, blue and white gingham dresses can be worn, as well as grey/black school shorts.
In Year 6, students may wear their leavers hoodies.
We ask that all clothing is clearly marked with the child’s name, as a safeguard against problems arising from children having similar clothing.
PE Kit
For reasons of basic health and hygiene it is important that all children have a change of clothes and footwear for PE and games.
This should be:
- Plain white t-shirt
- Black or navy PE shorts
- Black or navy tracksuit bottoms (outdoor PE)
- Trainers or pumps
Valuables and Jewellery
Valuables should not be brought to school. The wearing of jewellery is discouraged in school, especially pierced earrings. Children who are wearing jewellery will not be allowed to participate in PE lessons. Jewellery and clothing worn as part of religious beliefs also need to meet the standards and if not, will be discussed with families. Pupils may be able to take part in PE wearing small ear studs, which need to be taped before school / by the child (at the discretion of the Sports Coach or Teacher).
Watches may be worn.
The wearing of nail varnish is not encouraged.

We have relaunched our Trust-wide Uniform & Clothing Bank, offering a wide range of good-quality new and pre-loved items. This initiative provides a sustainable way to recycle and repurpose school uniforms, ensuring they continue to benefit children across our community.

Please note, submitting a request does not guarantee that all items will be available. Stock will be distributed as fairly as possible to ensure that all families who apply receive an appropriate level of support. We ask that families use the system responsibly and request only the items they genuinely need.
All requests will be handled confidentially and with sensitivity.
Once we have reviewed your order, we’ll be in touch to let you know if we can or cannot fulfill your request. If we are able to offer items, we’ll notify you when your parcel is ready to collect from your child’s school office. Please allow up to five school days for delivery.* If your request is urgent, please email uniformbank@wickersleypt.org.
