This morning, FS2 took part in their very first Read Write Inc Phonics lesson. The children were introduced to the letter m and worked on both recognising and writing it with confidence. Using the rhyme “Maisie, mountain, mountain” really helped them to remember the shape of the letter and guided their writing.
It was fantastic to see how engaged they were throughout the session, joining in enthusiastically and giving their best effort. By the end of the lesson, so many of the children were able to form the letter beautifully and could proudly talk about what they had learned.
This is just the start of their phonics journey, and it’s wonderful to see FS2 making such a positive start. Well done, FS2!
