English and Drama Curriculum Week in Y6

As part of English and Drama Curriculum Week, Y6 have been bringing their class novel, Goodnight Mister Tom to life by acting out key scenes. This has been a brilliant opportunity for them to step into the characters’ shoes and explore their thoughts and feelings.

The children worked hard on using expression in their voices and body language to show emotion, as well as building their confidence as fluent readers. It was wonderful to see them collaborating, performing in front of their peers, and really thinking about how to bring the story to life.

This kind of activity not only supports their understanding of the text but also helps develop important skills such as teamwork, communication, and empathy. Well done, Y6!
