Since returning to school, Year 2 have been working incredibly hard on their spellings. They have been learning new spelling rules and expanding their vocabulary, including exploring suffixes, root words, and word families.
This week, the focus was on using the suffix ‘y’ correctly. The children practised applying the rule in a variety of words and even tested their partners to see if they could spot any mistakes and use the rule confidently themselves.
It was fantastic to see the children engaging so enthusiastically, supporting each other, and demonstrating their understanding of the spelling rules. Their effort and determination have been outstanding.
