This week, Y2 have begun reading their new class text, Into the Forest by Anthony Browne. So far, the children have made thoughtful predictions using the front cover and blurb, answered retrieval questions about the text and illustrations, and started to make inferences about how the characters are feeling and why.
Yesterday, they took part in an exciting conscience alley activity. One child took on the role of the boy from the story, while the rest of the class tried to persuade him either to take the long, safe path his mum had suggested or the forbidden short path through the forest. The children came up with some fantastic reasons for both choices, using persuasive language and expression. We definitely have some budding actors in Year 2. Well done!
