In Music with Mrs Gibbons, Year 6 have been immersing themselves in the rich and vibrant sounds of African music. They began by listening carefully to a range of traditional and contemporary African pieces, exploring the unique rhythms, patterns, and instruments.
Building on what they had learned, the class then had the exciting opportunity to play along to an African piece on the xylophone, using their understanding of rhythm and tempo to perform together as an ensemble. It was fantastic to see such teamwork, focus, and enthusiasm throughout the session.
Well done, Year 6!
