Recently in Maths, the children have been focusing on mastering the numbers 4 and 5.
They are learning to recognise these numbers without counting by spotting patterns and groups using dot cards, dice, five frames, and other hands-on materials. They have also explored how these numbers can be made from smaller parts, using blocks, part-whole models, and small-world activities.
This work is helping the children build a strong foundation in number sense, developing a deeper understanding of how numbers are structured and made.
