This week Beech Class went on our first class trip of the year to Conisbrough Castle. We had done lots of learning on Conisbrough Castle already in our History lessons but we learnt so much more during our trip.
When we arrived we walked up to the castle and our lovely guide gave us a tour of the castle. We used a bag of clues to find out information about different parts, from the bailey to the tower. Next, we walked up to the top of the tower, which was very high and very windy! From up there, we could see all the way to Sheffield!
In the afternoon, we learnt more about Lord Warenne and Lady Isobel who lived in the castle. We had a chance to dress up as different roles in the castle and we listened to a story of how the castle came to be built.
It was a brilliant day and we learnt so much about Conisbrough Castle and why it was built.
