Welcome
to Year 6

Miss Jenkinson
Meet your teacher
My name is Miss Jenkinson and I am your new class teacher in Y6. I have been teaching, as part of Wickersley Partnership Trust, for eight years now; I have been a teacher at Aston Lodge Primary School for four of those. This year, I am looking forward to being a part of your learning, school life and watching you grow. Year 6 is such a great year to be a part of, as you’re now young adults getting ready for the next stage of your education. Try not to be too nervous about starting, because there is really nothing to worry about – everyone gets those first day butterflies! If you work hard, I’m sure we will have lots of fun.
Meet your Teaching Assistant

Miss Ozyer-Key
Hello, my name is Mrs Ozyer-Key, but most people know me as Mrs O. I will be your
teaching assistant this year! Get ready to smile and enjoy the challenges ahead. See
you in September.
Class Information
Our class this year will be full of just Y6 pupils in the morning: focusing on preparation for SATS and ensuring you feel confident with all core subjects. In an afternoon, you will be joined by your peers from the Y5 class, who you have worked closely with in ‘Holly Class’.
SATS week starts from Monday 11th May 2026. In preparation for next year, make sure that you are reading at least three times a week, coming to booster sessions and completing your homework.
Our Learning
We will be starting our WW2 unit, in history, in Autumn Term! This will include an educational visit to Eden Camp and lots of fun activities to engage you in the topic. Our class will also be dissecting a heart in science and painting with watercolour in the first few weeks. We cannot wait! We also have our first trip booked – to Crucial Crew. This will be on Monday 15th September and teaches you all about staying safe in different situations.
