As part of National Fitness Day on Wednesday 24th September 2025, all students at Aston Lodge laced up their trainers and took part in their daily mile – a fantastic way to get everyone moving, boost energy levels, and promote healthy lifestyles. The atmosphere was brilliant, with students encouraging one another and celebrating their progress as they completed their laps.
We were also lucky enough to welcome a very special guest – Cara from Rotherham United Community Trust – who delivered an inspiring assembly. Cara spoke about the incredible history of Rotherham United, shared how the club has been at the heart of the community for decades, and revealed that they will be celebrating their centenary year this season.
One of Wickersley Partnership Trust’s main priorities is encouraging young people to get involved in sport, so it was great to see students embracing this event, and day, with such enthusiasm. Our school and Trust supports participation through a strong PE curriculum, a wide range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities, and the work of our dedicated WPT Sports Development Team. The close partnership we have with Rotherham School Games also helps ensure that sport and physical activity remain exciting, inclusive and a regular part of school life.
It was a brilliant day of movement, teamwork, and celebration – well done to everyone who took part!
