Exploring Fractions
Before starting their new unit on ‘fractions’, Y6 explored what a fraction is with Numicon and counters. After discussing what the numerator and denominator show in a fraction, we then began simplifying the fraction. Pupils noticed that “Numicon which represents odd numbers are harder to simplify, as you cannot just divide by 2. 🍕➗

Investigating the Human Body
In Science, Year 5 has been learning about the human body and where in our body our important organs are situated. We have learned about the brain, heart, kidneys, liver, pancreas, lungs, stomach and large and small intestines!
Holly Class Celebrated Disney Day
Just before half term, Holly class really enjoyed taking part in Disney Day to celebrate 100 years of Disney! As you can see, our class certainly loves the character Stitch!
Exploring Multiplication
Holly class have enjoyed another ‘explore’ session to begin our new unit in maths on ‘Multiplication’. The children made arrays, used multiplication grids and shared all their previous learning on multiplication. Well done Holly Class!

FS2 Celebrate Disney 100 Day
On Monday 16th October 2023, we celebrated 100 years of Disney in school. For 100 years, Disney has been storytelling through the generations. 🏰🌠 To celebrate this milestone, FS2 students enjoyed dressing up and completing Disney-themed learning activities!
FS2 Visit Austefield Study Centre
The children in FS2 have loved their first school trip to Austerfield. 🚌🌲 We enjoyed learning about and holding a range of vertebrate and invertebrate animals.
