Debugging and Algorithms – Y6 Computing Skills

In Computing on Friday, we were learning how to debug! Debugging is spotting a problem in an algorithm and fixing it.

We started by choosing five blocks of Lego and building any unique structure. Each set of partners would then write an algorithm of how to make this from scratch.

We then gave our Lego pieces to another group, with our written algorithm, to see if they could make the exact same structure. We found that there were some problems with people’s algorithms and we needed to debug in order for us to make the same structure. 💻👷‍♂️👷‍♀️👾
