Tectonic Discoveries with Year 6 🌎

This week, we have been working hard in Geography in order to understand earthquakes. Tectonic plates form the crust of our Earth, which fit together like a jigsaw. They are constantly moving – causing earthquakes.

The children cut out a tectonic jigsaw to gain the understanding that tectonic plates are not just split based on where your continent or country is.

The children now know that if you are situated in a place near to the meeting of two tectonic plates, you are more likely to experience more frequent earthquakes. 🌎
